R. Jeffrey Sawyer - Attorney for South Arkansas

South Arkansas Attorney Jeffrey Sawyer

Jeffrey practices in the areas of family law litigation, criminal defense, civil litigation, personal injury, estate planning, probate, and business matters. Jeffrey’s primary strategy in a case is to prepare the case for trial. Though many cases do not go to trial, it is only by preparing the case for litigation that you can evaluate whether your settlement or plea agreement is the absolute best one available.

Jeffrey applies an array of legal experience to his practice. He served as a deputy prosecuting attorney for the 13th Judicial District of Arkansas from 2013 until 2023. During the same time period, he was a partner in the law firm of Stone & Sawyer, PLLC in El Dorado, where he practiced in primarily the same areas as he does currently.

Multi-State Legal Experience

Prior to moving to El Dorado, Jeffrey practiced law in Memphis, Tennessee. There his focus was civil litigation, and he successfully litigated cases throughout Tennessee and Mississippi. His clients included hospitals, building supply companies, food distributors, advertising agencies, credit card companies, banks, and lawyers.

Jeffrey began his legal career in Surfside Beach, South Carolina. There he represented clients in commercial and residential real estate closings, estate planning, contract disputes, landlord/tenant issues, and was a court appointed attorney in domestic cases. While Jeffrey is licensed to practice law in Arkansas, he has also passed the Tennessee, Mississippi, and South Carolina Bar Exams.

Jeffrey was born and raised in South Carolina. He graduated Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina in 2002. He graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, William H. Bowen School of Law in 2006, where he earned top paper honors in Constitutional Law and Family Mediation.
